Hi, my name is _______ and am a counsellor and a human being. Training as a counsellor has been quite a journey. The fantasy from friends and family has sometimes been that I’m all sorted and have no problems because I know about psychology and the human condition.
It is important to remember that even though we know stuff about who we are as humans, and why we do what we do, we are still human ourselves. Therapy is a meeting of the minds, where I know about the human mind, and you know about yourself.
We are both learning from one another, as fellow humans. With our joint knowledge, change happens

It’s been said that thinking about the past has the potential of making us feel low and thinking about the future might make us feel nervous.
When we’re in the here-and-now, practicing meditation or mindfulness activities, we’re focusing on the present moment, where nothing much is happening except this second and the next one.
